ISIC is an acronym for International Student Identity Card. This photo ID certifies you as an active student, and can be used as as student ID in about 90 countries around the world. This entitles you to the same rebates as a local student would have. The card recieves its validation and endorsment from UNESCO, but it's sold through private channels like a travel agent. When purchased, the card is valid until the end of the year. Other cards with similar endorsment is the ITIC (International Tecaher / professor Identity Card) for alumni and IYTC (International Youth Travel Card) for people under 25 years.
