The
composer in the band that has come up with
Slayer's most memorable songs.
Like
Kerry King, he is inventive and fearless with
melody - he is not afraid of
dissonance and
chromaticism. This is why most of the
riffs he writes sound transcendent, insane, and never stale. Of course, his use of fast tempos and intricate
rhythms is another major factor.
In terms of his
soloing voice, he tends to take a more
cantabile approach than
Kerry King, yet at the same time, he takes to the
tremolo bar more often.
