A character from the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. Jochebed was the wife of Amram, daughter of Levi and the mother of Aaron, Moses and the prophetess Miriam. It was she that first hid Moses for three months, then when she could hide him for no longer set him adrift in a basket.
