Kissy
Suzuki is the
Bond girl in the fifth
James Bond movie,
You Only Live Twice. Kissy is an
island diving girl who lives in
the village where Ernst Stavro Blofeld, a
bad guy, lives. Bond and Kissy go through a traditional
Japanese wedding ceremony but, despite being married to
the most eligible bachelor in the
British Secret Service, she says that sleeping with Bond would be pleasure and not business. She refrains. They evenutally end up together in
a floating raft at the end of the movie.
Mie Hama, who played Kissy, had been under contract with Toho
Studios since she was 17 and had 67 films
under her belt.
You Only Live Twice was her first
English-speaking film -- she had to
learn English for the movie! She has never again attained such
international stardom.
