Bubbly red wine, produced in large amount in Emilia Romagna, a region of Northern Italy.

It exists in sweet (amabile) and dry (secco) versions, and the sweet is usually cloying (what one called a lady-wine). The dry version is good, especially if it comes from Castelvetro.

An important component of the Discordian Mass.
