Love-Songs of Childhood is a book written by Eugene Field (1850–95); for his aunt whom he spent a great deal of time with as a child. My personal favorite is "Beard And Baby," that song is so warm and sweet, and conjures up some vivid pictures. I think The Happy Household is also an excellent choice.

Eugene Field, was best known as an author of nursery ryhmes such as “Little Boy Blue,” "Blynken, & Nod," and "The Duel," He wrote numerous poems referring to his childhood in Amherst, Massachusetts. His boyhood home still stands at 219 Amity Street, near the Amherst History Museum in Amerst MA.
