the lawsuit brought by the
mpaa against
2600 magazine after
2600 made
decss available from their website. decss breaks the
encryption on
dvd movies, allowing users to, among other things, play dvds on
linux machines. this pissed off a bunch of rich people in
hollywood who were intent on
controlling the flow of information and so they banded together to fight
the great geek menace in the
courtroom.
