According to a paperback I read in seventh grade, a large continent in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, civilized for millenia when all other people were still in the Stone Age, that sank 15,000 years ago, leaving only a few mountain tops sticking out, like Hawaii. Also called, by some Occult writers, the Lost Continent of Mu, or Lemuria.
