I didn't know how much of my personal life I wanted to reveal, and at that moment
I reflexively opted for minimal disclosure.
"It's a great day," she said. "I hope you
enjoy the sunshine."
"Thanks, hope you
have a great week."
"You too," she said as she left for her car.
I went back inside.
I hadn't signed out yet.
Not that it really mattered. But
it was standard protocol.
I took a look in the break room. Empty of people, but stacked high with donuts and other
treats dangerous for my blood sugar.
There was nothing left but for me to leave.
