The Non-Resident Violator Compact (Also known in some states as the Driver License Compact), is an attempt to standardize methods utilized by the various jurisdictions to process non-resident violators receiving traffic citations. In other words, if you get a ticket in one state, you'll be prosecuted for it in your home state.
While most states have Non-Resident Violator Compacts, there is no single one for all states, rather, several states with 1 bilateral agreement and some with others. This, not surprisingly, causes the same jurisdiction problems which were intended to be resolved by these agreements.
