the famous hunting rifle that was presented to David "Davy" Crockett during his campaign for the house of representatives. It was a handsome longrifle, good for hunting and battle, and had a gold plaque on it with crockett's name, the names of the givers and the date which the gift was made. This was the rifle he used almost exclusively for the rest of his life, and the one that was with him at his death--whether "swinging her like a club as mexicans poured over the walls, or in honorable death after surrender, the rifle was still with him during his battle at the alamo.
