A little something from the language department:
The famous 12 days of Christmas opening gift, a partridge in a pear tree may actually be a mistake. The French for partridge is "perdrix" which, for you non Francophones, is pronounced, "pear dree". What are the chances of that bizarre coincidence? Unless that is, the English was translated from the French and a mistake was made, perdrix became partridge, and then became a pear tree as well.... mysterious.....
Can't claim all the credit, thanks to my french tutor. Mr P Bowen, we salute you :)
