The Peachoid is a one-million gallon water tower in the shape of a gigantic peach. It was built in 1981 in the town of Gaffney, SC. The Peachoid is basically a big peach sitting on top of a sort of pedestal. There's a big leaf attached to the top.
To see the Peachoid, get on I-85 and head north. When you're starting to run out of South Carolina, you'll see it. It sits on the north side of the interstate, and is visible for miles in all directions. The closest exit is Highway 11, Cherokee Foothills Scenic Parkway.
It's truly one of the South's finest landmarks.
