Photoheterotrophs are organisms which use light as an energy source. This is opposed to chemoheterotrophs which rely on organic substances or compounds. Photoheterotrophs include plants, bacteria, and various other light dependent organisms. These are related to photoautotrophs which use light and carbon-dioxide exclusively.
