The parts of a parachute that connect your harness to the suspension lines, which are in turn connected to your chute. If your parachute ever deploys with twisted suspension lines, you have to grab your risers and kick your feet to untwist them, unless your slider doesn't have four corners, in which case you should initiate main chute cut-away and deploy your reserve chute. Your steering toggles are connected to your risers as well.

Not only do you grab your risers, you push them apart. The event described above is more commonly known as a 'twist'. It is classified as a 'low speed malfunction'. If the parachute is opened, square, and flying in a straight line, the chute will still fly, although you will be unable to use your steering toggles.
