American humorist Sam Levenson was born on December 28, 1911 and died in 1980. He grew up in Manhattan and was a stand-up comedian as a young man. He has been the author of a great many memorable quotes, including a list of beauty tips often attributed to Audrey Hepburn (see her entry for the list).
His books include the bestseller Everything But Money (1966) and In One Era and Out The Other (1973).
