Open up and smell the sea,
The howl of willow waves
Leaving footprints in the sand,

Open up and smell the sea,
As it’s glass blown shape,
Is melting to the moon,

Open up and smell the sea,
Incurable snatches of water,
Flung like daggers to the land,

Open up and smell the sea,
Every moment, swallowed,
With neither judgement or reproach,

Open up and smell the sea,
For many tears have made it,
But it’s sweet to the touch of hands,

Open up and smell the sea,
A labyrinth of sympathy,
Held within the lungs,

Open up and smell the sea,
For meaning maybe else where,
But the sea shall understand,
