As the name might imply, this recipe is vaguely reminiscent of smoked tuna. Serve it as a dip/spread for crackers, and you will win friends and influence people. When I serve it, I tend to go with a more robust, whole grain crackers rather than saltines.

Also note, this is a fairly generic version of the recipe. You can jazz it up in any number of ways.

1 pound, smoked tofu, shredded
2-4 tablespoons, mayonnaise* (vegan varieties OK)
liquid smoke to taste
Tabasco sauce to taste
1/2 cup onion, minced (optional)

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients until well mixed. Be conservative with the liquid smoke because a little goes a long way. Chill mixture for two hours. Serve with crackers.

* Note regarding mayonnaise: The amount of mayonnaise is a very subjective thing. Use more if you prefer a creamier texture; use less to reduce calories and fat in the recipe.
