Stiltskin were a band
invented for a Levi's jeans
commercial.
Levi's wanted to use a
Smashing Pumpkins song for this ad, but couldn't get the rights to it, so instead they got together a bunch of
session musicians who recorded a
song (called
Inside) which sounded
like the Pumpkins song in question, but was
not similar enough to provoke legal action.
How do I know this? I was at university with a muso who was asked to be in Stiltskin but declined the offer.
