South African band, almost as popular as the
Springbok Nude Girls, but,
IMHO Sugardrive are one of
SA's most original and impressive bands.
They have released 6 albums all in all. Obviously the production values have increased tenfold since the debut "Hey God, Its Me Again" was released and the sound is now tighter and more refined. Sugardrive remind me of a combination of Stabbing Westward and James.
I have had the great opportunity to see them live on numerous occasions and they are a great live band. It took the beautiful "Disco Lazarus" (the single from the 1999's album "When I died I was Elvis") to wake the international scene up to their talent and I have heard the song played over in the UK.
