The suri alpaca is one of the two types of alpacas, which are native of Peru.

These alpacas also like the Huacaya alpaca come in the range of natural colors, approximately 22. White fleeces are more frequently died to make the unnatural colors of: red, blue and green. The fleece is notorious for being soft and very durable.

These animals are unique because of their pencil like dread-locks - pending on which farm you talk to they are sheared anywhere from a year to 5 years.
