excellent indie band from
Philadephia that not many people have heard or seen. They play small clubs in
PA,
NY,
NJ,
DE, and
MD. A review of their Butterfly Ep in
Carpe Noctem Issue 13 reads as follows:
It's one thing to write gloomy music with a simple combination of dour lyrics and minor keys, but it's another to use atmosphere, dynamics, and raw feeling to sculpt a dark sound with emotional resonance. Tapping The Vein utilize this latter approach in crafting the moody songs which appear on their 5-song Butterfly EP.
However, what distinguishes them from other bands is that they use the music as a
tapestry upon which Heather paints a picture, using her "capacity to fly from one
emotional and
auricular extreme to another in one second flat..." (
