Three Bull-Protectors of the Island of Britain:


"Tarw"--bull--was a common metaphor for a warrior in early Welsh poetry, such as "bull of battle" which, IIRC, shows up in The Stanzas of the Graves.

Gwenddolau ap Ceidiaw is the same Gwenddolau who lost the Battle of Arthuret.

Urien ap Cynfarch is of course Urien of Rheged, later Uriens of Gorre in Arthurian Romance; father of Owein ap Urien.
