Three Frivolous Bards of the Island of Britain:
Here we have three rulers trying to take on the office of a
bard. The idea is that these men do not have the training to be bards--they are of the warrior class, not the
druid or
bardic class--and so are considered frivolous. Arthur is related has having occasionally composed
englyniau (epigrams), such as in
Culhwch ac Olwen.
