"Tin Goose" was the name the media stuck on the 1948 Tucker automobile prototype. At the time the Tucker auto company was a small operation that was dangerously underfunded and looking at an uphill battle. The "Tin Goose" name was a variation of the "Spruce Goose" a giant wooden sea-plane considered to be unflyable.
