Based in Seattle, WA, WatchGuard is a provider of Internet security systems for businesses. Their flagship product is the Firebox - a Linux-based firewall/router with optional VPN support. They also make a smaller SOHO version for smaller applications. While they have tried moving into other product areas with their ServerLock software that prevents changing of web pages, it has been a largely unsuccessful addition (if the hacker can get into the system, it isn't that comforting to know that they aren't changing the web site).

WatchGuard was founded in 1996 and its IPO was July 30, 1999. WatchGuard is traded under the Nasdaq ticker WGRD.
