Fine. I've explained to Windows 98 that it now has two hardware configurations. One is when Win98 is running on my real hardware. The other is for when VMware under Linux is providing an emulated hardware platform. Neato. They don't wreck each other arguing about what kind of hard disk/keyboard/video card/etc I've got.
But it's a damn annoying message. To me, it's obvious which hardware configuration is in use. If this were Linux, I'd figure some way of explaining to the boot process what's going on. But it's not and I don't know how to bypass the prompt.
Someone must know...
It's the subtle implication that, maybe, Windows might be able to guess what configuration someone else's computer is in, that irritates most, I think.
