I used to think that I could
preserve the past by writing it down. I thought that by capturing every detail on paper I could
relive the moment whenever I wanted to.
Now I realize I was wrong.
Writing as a medium of memory is futile because we do not have the vocabulary to re-create moments. It is of no concern the level of detail - words alone are not enough to encapsulate the dimensions of memory, of moments, or of life.
So live for the moment, not for the memory - you might be disappointed.
