Presumably a mating of the words "ballistic" and "molecule," this neologism describes a nearly infinitesimal projectile, and would most likely be used in science fiction novels that employ nanotechnology as a plot element. The word's use is quite limited; I've only seen it once, in Neal Stephenson's novel The Diamond Age.
