A nasty, anti-dance law being enforced in New York City. It was originally created in the 1930's to keep the Jazz clubs in Harlem from making money. In more recent times, Mayor Giuliani has used it to stamp out dancing in clubs, bars, and other venues that charge money but cannot afford a cabaret license. Because of this law, if a venue charges money, no more than three people may dance at a time. This effectively outlaws any dancing in your average NYC bar or club.
