Chrysoprase

Probably the most valuable member of the mineral family chalcedony, for its apple-green color; the drawback to chrysoprase is that exposure to intense sunlight makes the color fade. Faded chrysoprase is sometimes passed off as jade.

An apple-green variety of chalcedony, colored by nickel. It has a dull flinty luster, and is sometimes used in jewelry.
