A rather interesting (and disturbing) potenial effect of explosives in Shadowrun.
Shadowrun explosives rules describe the effect of an explosion as a shock wave that travels away from the epicenter of the blast. The power of the shock wave slowly diminishes with distance traveled. However, if said shock wave hits a wall, it is reflected, and then returns back to ground zero. A character caught between the blast and the wall takes damage both from the blast and from the reflected shock wave.
Now, take a well armored room (a bank vault, for example.) Place one person in. Add grenade. The person will not only take the damage from the blast, but get hit from all sides as the shock waves reflect off the walls.
After experiencing the chunky salsa effect, the remains of the person caught tend to resemble the name of the effect.
