A drop zone (often abbreviated "DZ"), is a target area of land where paratroopers or parachuted supplies are (supposed) to land.

In non-military usage, a drop zone may be an area of land near a small airport that is permanently set aside as a landing area for recreational parachutists, and often features amenities such as housing, restrooms, and restaurants to serve the needs of these recreators before or after their jumps.
