Mil. Slang:
v. - to "dual
hat" or to "wear two hats" is to possess two jobs that are closely related, so that one person fills two roles in a
chain of command. Can also be used
sarcastically to
differentiate between one's job title and one's real job: "I'm dual hatting as an
intelligence analyst and
coffee boy."
adj. - having two overlapping jobs: "I'm the dual hat division commander and battalion commander."
n. - one who has two
overlapping jobs: "He's the new dual hat."
When a dual hat's two
roles have
conflicts of interest, he or she may preface an
opinion by saying "I'm wearing my X hat now."
