A mostly residential neighborhood of
New Orleans,
Louisiana.
Is between downtown and Uptown. It is bordered by Jackson Avenue on the downtown side and Louisiana Avenue on the uptown side.
The famous/infamous Vampire writer, Anne Rice lives here in one of the many antebellum style homes, tucked between the oaks, the spanish moss and the magnolias.
The Garden district is best reached by streetcar and then by foot. In the lush garden of humidity that is New Orleans, this may be the prettiest spot.
Houses are not so much sold in this part of the city as they are "passed down."
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
