In dental
parlance, the process of filling the
root canal after
root canal therapy.
Most often, this is done in the United States with
gutta percha, a pink, rubbery substance with some
barium in it to make it
radiopaque, or show up white on
x-rays.
In especially straight root canal systems, some
dentists used to place
silver points. This is no longer the
standard of care, but there are individuals out there with them still.
