1. Abnormal sensitivity of the eyes to light. It is a feature of various conditions, including migraine, measles, meningitis, conjunctivitis, iritis, and keratitis. Photophobia may be experienced by persons who are taking or are addicted to certain drugs. It occurs also in albinos owing to a lack of eye pigmentation.

2. A morbid or irrational fear of light or of being in well-lighted places. Photophobia is an anxiety disorder more often seen in women than men
