A sticky floorpiece whose purpose it is to keep a
clean room free of the
dirt and other gunk that's on the bottom of your shoes. There are two types.
Permanent tacky mats are somewhat thick pieces of
plastic, usually blue, and have to be
steam cleaned at least weekly. The
disposable variety come in stacks of thin sheets with about 20-60 per stack, are usually white or gray, and the only
maintenance involved is removing the top sheet when it turns too
brown.
