Used in Stephen King's Gunslinger series, mostly by Roland. Means "Thank you, sir/ma'am", and is usually accompanied by a gesture and a bow. When saying towards males, you tap your chest with your right knuckles, when to females you tap your throat with your your fingertips (no pinky or thumb). Supposedly a holdover from the old ways, very popular in Gilead.
