Original name for The Replacements. Formed in 1979, their first gig was at a halfway house for alcoholics. They were drunk, and were thrown out, told they wouldn't ever play in Minneapolis again. So, they changed their name to The Replacements. When asked what they were replacing, Paul Westerberg answered, "Ourselves."
