An orange-colored drink introduced in the Star Trek episode "The Corbomite Maneuver". The original tranya was served with great flourish on board the ISS Fesarius by Balok, a freakish boy-alien played by a very young Clint Howard, dubbed with the deep adult voice of Vic Perrin.
The Federation apparently obtained the recipe for tranya from Balok, as tranya was served in Quark's Bar in the later Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Facets".
The drink can be served hot or cold - fans and Star Trek-related books have usually described cold tranya as a sweet citrus drink, while hot tranya is more of an orange-laced black tea.
