Physics homework is scattered around me and I curled up on the sofa, pulling my knees up so that my chin could rest on them and I wrapped my arms around them. The apartment is so beautiful with the sunight streaming through the windows. Sunlight hits my skin and makes it iridescent, thousands of tiny rainbows contained in the gold of my skin. It's warm and beautiful, and I am contented.

The sun is setting behind some trees on the hill to the west and it happens faster than I would have thought possible. I watch as the psychedelic trick of the light played out on my skin becomes fainter, the colors in the room become cooler, as the world becomes that not light but not dark either state called dusk. I realize that summer is slipping away just like that, the days are becoming shorter, more dark and less light.

I realize that it is going to be dark soon.

Foreboding.
