I am a Music Geek turned Computer Geek.

I'm also a girl, which compounds the problem.

I love to discuss: Politics, Literature, History, Philosophy, Love . At length. In written form. Run, I tell you. Run .

Things I'm NOT inclined to discuss:

  • fashion. I'm a future software engineer, not Coco Fucking Chanel.
  • How long it took me to get a driver's license
  • Clueless computer users and the way they tend to end up at my door at 3 a.m.
  • Hardware stats, processor speed and the like. Get a life, son.
  • Fancy food. I'm a vegetarian, the opposite of a gourmet, and have been known to live happily on risotto for weeks on end.

Special features:

  • Perfect pitch
  • ability to move left ear
  • Good memory for song lyrics.
  • Poor memory for keys, birthdays, mittens and items left boiling on the stove.

Not to suck up to you people, but I knew I'd love this place - someone ought to put a giant "Welcome to Geek Heaven" on the front door. I must have read half the nodes on this side as a guest user over the years, so if you've been noding for a while, chances are I've read and enjoyed some of your work. I'm still a bit intimidated by the scores of clever people here, though. This is going to be a humbling experience.

Thousand and one projects I might tackle in this lifetime:

  • The parable of the three rings I did a lot of research and am now thoroughly afraid to screw it up
  • Middle High German inspired by spiregrain's excellent nodes about Carmina Burana
  • Old High German (see above)
  • Ferenginar for shits and giggles. Yes, I am a trekkie.
  • G. Piatigorsky world-famous cellist and author of one of the best musician autobiographies I've ever read
  • Nikolaus Harnoncourt famous conductor who'd deserve a better author for his writeup. Karajan, go home.
  • Reingold-Tilford algorithm don't hold your breath - this reeks of hard work
  • Lili Palmer , and maybe Rex Harrison Lili Palmer's autobiography is another must-read
  • Mendelssohn's 'Elias' a classic node-your-homework case: I'll keep it shorter than the original 15 pages, though
