Safety glasses are designed to protect a person's eyes when they're doing something that involves danger to a human's ocular meatware. Since these are glasses, they're worn like regular ones and not with a strap that goes around your head like goggles.

The lenses are typically shatterproof, and sometimes the manufacturers add in side wings to help prevent flying debris from getting into your eyes. The frames are normally reinforced with a metal frame or made with Lexan or other polycarbonate plastics.

If you ride a motorcycle in a state that does not require a brain bucket, you should consider at least riding with safety glasses to protect your eyes. There's nothing like getting hit in the face with an angry wasp or a stone from a dump truck tire while riding along at 75mph. It would suck worse if it hit you in the eyeball.
