This is Noung. I'll be using this account firstly to node Leviathan with commentary, and perhaps afterwards some of Hobbes' other works, such as The Elements of Law, Natural and Politic, Behemoth (history of the civil wars in England), Dialogues Between a Philosopher and a Student of the Common Laws of England and De Cive.

Thomas Hobbes was an English philosopher and political theorist and Leviathan is commonly regarded as the greatest work of political philosophy in the English language as well as a massive literary achievement. It is split into four sections.

Bold designates a purely explanatory and analytical node by Noung; otherwise the write-up is by this account. Footnotes in the text are my own work and meant for clarification: they are not Hobbes' writings and are clearly marked as such.
