In high school I hated writing; it seemed like teachers weren't interested in my perspective unless it were the same as a recognized expert's. Even my poetry, whether good or bad in my own mind, was measured against some unknown, subjective standard. I first joined E2 because it looked cool from the perspective of a mathematician or computer scientist. Now it's a place where I can write something and have it judged by a community, rather than according to the experiences and opinions of just one person. My writeups are few and far between right now, but I plan to keep at it.
