My name is Nick, but many people call me Forehead. No, I don't have an interesting forehead. Mine is standard issue. The nickname stems from a guy I knew at the University of Portland my freshman year.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Portland and work at Cypress Semiconductor in the DCD Software group (data communications division software group) in Portland, Oregon. Current duties include next generation PLD architecture exploration.

I've been a Linux junky for several years now. Linux on the desktop is nothing new. My latest OS flavor of the season is OpenBSD. It is quite refreshing. A basic install only fills a few hundred megabytes. Most every binary is there for a specific reason. Try figuring out what every binary in a default Red Hat install is for (since 50% of them don't have a man page), and you'll see what I mean.

Favorite languages include Perl, C/C++, and Java. I've heard some good things about Ruby, and have dabbled with Haskell in the past, but haven't had the drive to continue with it.

Some may consider me a walking contradiction. Sort of an introverted extrovert, if that makes any sense.
