A small town in Sweden, situated by the northeastern end of Vättern, the fifth largest lake in Europe.

The town and its approximately 4000 inhabitants depend almost solely on the tourism, and while the town is absolutely dead during the winter, it's more than overcrowded during the summer.

Gränna is stunningly beautiful, consisting largely of very well preserved wooden buildings more than 300 years old, and situated just in between the giant lake and a vast forest-clad highland plateau.

Gränna was founded in 1652 by Count Per Brahe, at the time probably the most influental man in Sweden, ruling all of Finland and surpassing even the king in wealth.

In Sweden, Gränna is a well known town, largely thanks to a phenomenon called polkagrisar.
