In 1967 I played with a rock band in the now demolished Ladbroke Hotel, Notting Hill. A London guy who I had become friendly with asked me, one Sunday lunchtime, if I would care to see 10 Rillington Place which was about 6 or 7 hundred yards a way from the pub. 10 Rillington Place being the former home of infamous serial killer John Christie. Minutes later we were parked at the end of Rillington Place looking down this extremely grim street.
I have retained an interest in the Christie case ever since.
