The
Shuttle was a
low-priced alternative to the
PC Engine (
¥18,800), despite the fact it was
larger,
blacker and supposed to be shaped like a
spacecraft (even the
controller took on some
UFO-like qualities). The
Shuttle had no
expansion port, making it
incompatible with the
CD-ROM² and
Super CD-ROM². The fact that it was cheaper and only played
HuCards was played up to families and people who were unsure about video games. It never reached the same wide distribution as the
CoreGrafx, so is still pursued by collectors.
